Group Insurance Benefits: Employees who work 30 hours per week are eligible for group insurance and health benefits.
For employees working 10-12 months per year and 40 or more hours per week are considered “full-time” employees, the district provides full single coverage for $2,000 deductible comprehensive hospital and major medical health insurance, dental insurance, long term disability insurance with 120 day waiting period not to exceed 60% of the monthly income with a maximum of $4,000, a straight term life insurance policy of $20,000, with supplemental accidental death and dismemberment coverage of $20,000.
Employees working 30-39 hours per week, the district provides HDHP 3500 single coverage, the employee with be responsible for a portion of the premium.
Employees working less than 30 hours per week may purchase employee only medical and dental coverage at their own expense.
All employees (both full and part-time) may purchase family medical or dental coverage at their own expense.
*Teachers who decided not to participate in the schools Health and Dental insurance plan have the option of receiving money in lieu of insurance. Tax shelter annuity plans are available upon request.
Annual Enrollment is April/May each year with coverages beginning July 1 for continuing coverage. New employee coverages begin September 1, or the following month of hire date if after September 1 of the current school year.
Southwest Iowa Mental Health Clinic – We have an agreement with this Clinic in Atlantic to provided services for our employees. If you would like to talk to someone there – please call them at 800-458-4403 and let them know you are an employee at the Audubon Community School District. They will guide you through the steps to set up an appointment.
